Nata Simha Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film under the direction of Paruchuri Murali is nearing completion. Film unit will shot some important sequences in and around Kurnool from today.  Few scenes are to be shot in this schedule. With this, shooting part will be completed.

Balakrishna is reported playing three roles in the film. Just like a typical Balakrishna’s film, makers of this film are said to have given due importance to action, comedy and family relations & sentiment. The title ‘Adhinayakudu’ is under consideration for the film, but this is yet to be confirmed officially.

Balakrisha romances two beautiful ladies -Saloni and Lakshmi Rai in the film. ML Padmakumar Chowdary is producing it on Sri Keerthi Combines banner. The film is expected for Sankranthi release.

Kalyani Malik is composing music for the film.

Rajamouli is a maverick, but he is not like an RGV.  Every time he makes a post on Twitter, it is to speak a sweet word about a colleague or a film.  Recently, he raved about Boyapati Seenu and prophesied that he will become a mass director to watch out for in future.

It is now the turn of Pawan Kalyan's Panja's producer Shobu Yarlagadda to get a pat on his back.  Rajamouli, who was privy to the first look of Panja, has tweeted that it is 'terrific.'

The same will be open for every one's view from the Dasara day.  The makers have used the auspicious occasion probably with the aim of releasing it amid a fanfare.

KFC and SRB Art Productions are jointly producing a film titled Nandeeswarudu starring Nandamuri Taraka Ratna (NTR). The film was launched on August 25 at Ramanaidu Studios. Anji Srinu is directing the film produced by Segu Ramesh Babu and Gangadhar Reddy.The film recently completed its shooting in Attapur Temple, Shamshabad Temple, Nanakramguda, Saradhi Studios, MLR Engineering College and Jubilee Hills. The makers are planning to wrap up the film in a single schedule and release the film in December.

The film is the remake of Kannada Super Hit film Deadly Soma. Paruchuri brothers are penning the dialogues and thriller Manju is the stunt master. Producer Ramesh Babu said that the film’s talkie part will be completed by October. They are planning to can the 7 songs in 7 different countries in November. The film’s interval bang was shot on the lead cast along with 7000 junior artists. So far the film completed 40% of the talkie part.

Pardhu is debuting as music director with Nandeeswarudu. Sheena of Bindaas fame is the female lead. Rajeev Kanakala, Jeevi, Ajay, Chalapathi Rao, Nagineedu, Prabhas Srinu, Delhi Rajeswari and Nandan Goud are playing other roles. Sudhakar Reddy is handling the lens.

Their first outing together did not work magic at the Box Office.  Of course, it managed to scrape through in the first few weeks of its release, but it did not live up to the hype it had created before its release.  We are talking about Parugu and the combination of Arjun and Bhaskar.

This, however, doesn't stop them for working together again.  They will soon team up for a commercial entertainer.  Bhaskar has reportedly narrated an interesting idea to Bunny and the latter has given his nod.

The film will go on the floors once Arjun is done shooting for Trivikram Srinivas' Honey.  The actor's last film Badrinath did not do well.  This seems to be making him to plan his career moves wisely.

Coming back to Bhaskar's film, what can we expect from it?  A touching love story aside, the film might be expected to have the hero's character curiously written.  Parugu and Orange saw the heroes with their own distinct approach to life and love.  Will Bhaskar repeat this feat or play safe?

Perhaps inspired by Bollywood stars who own IPL teams, young Telugu hero Ram Charan, son of actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, has bought a polo team.

It is not a commercial venture though, he says, but a means to pursue his passion - horse riding.

Charan is supported in this endeavour by Upasana Kamineni who he is going to marry.

Upasana - grand-daughter of Apollo Hospitals head Pratap C Reddy - is interested in polo, Charan said to reporters in Hyderabad.

Charan, who has blockbusters like Magadheera and Chiruta under his belt, introduced the four-member Polo team and unveiled its logo today. It would participate in tournaments in Hyderabad and elsewhere.

"Upasana is supporting me. P C Reddy has been in racing for long.

"This is not like IPL cricket. You have money in IPL. On the contrary, you lose money here," he said, replying to a query.

Saying that horse-riding sharpens the mind, Charan said that school children should be encouraged to take up the sport.

Talking about personal life, he said engagement to Upasana was likely to take place during this year.

Upasana's forefathers were rulers of Domakonda Samsthan in Nizamabad district and one of the ceremonies was likely to take place in the ancient fort in the village, Charan said.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun and writer-director Trivikram Srinivas’ film launch is scheduled on 24th of this month. It will have Ileana D’ Cruz in the female lead role.

Actor Salman Khan has scored a hat-trick at the box-office with his latest release, Bodyguard, which net Rs 20 crore on the first day of its release. His two other recent films, Dabanng and Ready, raked in the moolah


While Dabanng collected Rs 14 crore on the first day, Ready garnered Rs 12.5 crore. Till then, these Khan capers hit the silver screen, actor Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots had been the highest first-day grosser with Rs 13 crore.

The massive opening for Bodyguard, which also stars Khan along with Kareena Kapoor, could not have come at a better juncture for Salman Khan, who is battling ill-health. He is in the United States for two surgeries to tackle his neurological problems-trigeminal neuralgia and a form of brain aneurysm. The neuralgia results in painful spasms across the actor's jaw.

He is scheduled to undergo the procedures within a couple of days. Regarding Bodyguard's opening, Fun Cinemas' head of operations Vishal Anand, said, "This has to be the highest-ever opening in Bollywood, beating Dabbang by nearly 15% or so.

" He feels Bodyguard should be able to net Rs 70 crore because of the present five-day weekend due to the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. "It is on the verge of making a record in Bollywood," he said. Bodyguard could have gained from the fact that there was "30-day lull at the box office". However, the impending release of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Mausam may change things.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, "Salman has become a phenomenon if one goes by the first day collection alone." He credits the first-day rush to the "Salman phenomenon". He said, "I feel after Salman has started doing charity he has found a special connect with the audience and they make his films work."

However, many other industry watchers have panned the film. "In terms of content, 'Bodyguard' is an average film as compared to Dabanng and Ready.

One will have to wait and watch to see how it fares beyond the first day," said a film analyst. Adarsh feels otherwise: "Salman and Eid are a lethal combination. I think this film will break the first weekend record as well."

The rich Indian mythological tradition has inspired many writers and filmmakers, and the epics, the Ramayana [ Images ] and the Mahabharata [ Images ], have been adapted on the small screen and big, several times.

K Raghavendra Rao, one of the top directors in south, is planning a multi-lingual, multi-star mythological project on the Ramayana.

The budget of the film is Rs 75 core. The role of Ravana will be played by Mohan Babu, a senior and respected actor and a multi-faceted personality (educationist, parliamentarian).

Mohan Babu's son, Vishnu [ Images ] Manchu, says the film will be in three languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and it will be "one of the never before seen kind of project." It is expected to take off in the second half of 2012.

"The actors for this film will be from all over -- the Hindi belt, Karnataka [ Images ], Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh. Actors who one never thought would come together will be seen in this film. The characters and the names of the cast will be announced on March 19 (the birthday of Mohan Babu). We are in talks with Weta of New Zealand [ Images ] (a visual effects company) as well as others to collaborate with my Special Effects Studio Think Smart. It's a dream project of mine. We are in talks with various production houses and corporates and have not tied up with any so far," Vishnu Manchu said.

K Raghavendra Rao, one of the most successful directors of the Telugu industry, has directed commercial, devotional and period films such as Annammayya, Bhakta Ramadasu, Pandurangadu and Sri Manjunatha. He has also directed Hindi films like Tohfa and Himmatwala.

Mohan Babu is known for his versatile acting, histrionics and dialogue delivery. He has acted in about 520 films (146 as hero).

The South Indian film industry, particularly Tamil and Telugu, is known for its rich mythological and period films, particularly the portrayals of Krishna/Vishnu by the late N T Rama Rao and devotional ones by Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

So, how will the new Ramayana live up to earlier versions? "At that time, Indians hadn't seen Ben Hur, so they didn't have to live up to it. Sometime ago, Young Tiger NT Rama Rao�s film 'Bridavanam' turned out to be a big hit and 'Mahesh Khaleja' which had hit the screens during those days was bumped off at the Box Office.

Now, 'Oosaravelli' of NTR is getting ready for release during the Dasara season and it is learnt that Maheshbabu is pushing his producers to release 'Dookudu' somewhere during that period and thereby wreaking a vengeance on NTR's film.

Not only against NTR, Maheshbabu also wants put a break to another Nandamuri hero, Balakrishna, whose film 'Srirama Rajyam' is going to hit the screens during Dasara vacations.

Let us wait and watch who would emerge a winner at Box Office during this Dasara season.

After getting married, Young Tiger NT Rama Rao had accepted two films and is working for both of them simultaneously. While Surender Reddy is directing a film with a working title of 'Oosaravelli', another film 'Dammu' is being directed by Boyapati Sreenu. However, 'Dammu' shooting is getting delayed because NTR is presently concentrating on 'Oosaravelli' and is shooting in an abroad schedule.

As the hero is otherwise busy, 'Dammu' unit is planning to resume the shooting in September, Earlier, a 10-day schedule was planned for 'Dammu' but it was cancelled as NTR is still in Bangkok. The producers of 'Oosaravelli' are planning to release the film in September, 'Dammu' is most likely to wrap up shooting in December and is likely to be released as a Sankranti gift in January next year.

'Dammu' is presented by KS Rama Rao and is being produced by Alexander Vallabha on the banner of Creative Commercial Media and Entertainment Ltd. Keeeravani is scoring music for the flick.

Senior heroes are trying to invent new characters and roles for their forthcoming films. Instead of playing heroes in routine commercial films they are trying to experiment with new characters and roles to show some novelty to the audiences.

Balakrishna, who enthralled the audiences with heavy violent films and gory blood baths on the screen with Rayalaseema-backdrop subjects had kept his image aside and did 'Sri Rama Rajyam'.

Likewise, Nagarjuna is trying to showcase his acting talents in 'Shirdi Sai'. Noticing these artistes, Venkatesh had also given a green signal to a film which is based on the life and history of 'Vivekananda' after sporting a differvent get up as Raja in 'Nagavalli'.

Already Rajendra Prasad had started playing different characters as an elderly man in 'Aa Naluguru' and now coming up as 'Satyam Master'.

Let us wait and watch how far audiences accept their favourite heroes in their new looks.

Telugu Movies: Jr NTR Joins Srinu Vytla’s Mafia!

NTR Jr who is right now busy with Surender’s Oosaravelli and Boyapati’s Chura Kathi is all set to do his next film under Srinu Vytla direction. This film will be produced by Ganesh Babu on Parameshwara Arts banner. It is believed that Srinu Vytla told a family comedy script to NTR for which the latter was mighty impressed.

Ganesh Babu has registered an interesting title ‘Mafia – O Manchi Kutumbam’ recently at film chamber. Film sources say that this title is registered for NTR, Srinu Vytla’s movie. Nothing has been finalized yet for this film which is likely to go to sets in October.

Srinu Vytla is busy with Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu which is in the last leg of shooting. With bagging Mahesh and NTR’s movies in a row, Srinu Vytla is regarded as the top rated director in Tollywood.

Jagapathi babu psychological Puzzle Thriller movie 'Key' released today. 

Story:

Nine members apply for a job by seeing an advertisement. Management says that only one person will be selected out of through a psychological test. As per the test they will be given question paper and they should find the answer to it in ninety minutes. There will be certain rules and regulations to write the test and people who fail to follow them will get eliminated. Invigilator (Jagapathi Babu) hands them over question papers and explains the procedure. However, the contestants realize that there is no question in the papers that is handed over to them. They have to find the question and give the answer to it too.

Analysis:

Director attempted to make a novel film and that has to be lauded. He simply didn’t take the beaten to death track to prove to be a successful director. But it seems like he didn’t do much homework behind this script. It appeared like a one hour telefilm most of the time.

 

Thrill factor is completely missing despite having an interesting scenario. Not even the climax is up to the mark. All the incidents start to irk as the movie passes on. The narrative loses fuel within no time and the film starts to bore you. Thankfully the film lasts only 90 minutes but still fails to hold the interest in that less time.

Performances:

Jagapathi Babu’s role is just a cameo. He is Okay. Other actors did their part within their limitations. Producer and co producer Suresh too played comedic roles in this film.

Tehnicalities:

Technically Key is good for a film of its budget. Vijay Kurakula’s background score is engaging. Vinda cinematography is another plus point. Most part of the film is confined to a room but the cinematographer managed to keep the camera moving. Director has new ideas but didn’t know how to bring it on screen. He should do lot of homework before going on to sets.

Minus points:

Loose ends in screenplay
- Poor climax
- Weak performances

Final Word: Key to boredom.

Box office predictions: It is a nonstarter at the box office and it will need aggressive publicity to grab the attention, leave alone drawing collections.

In 2008, it was a public spat between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. This year it's a much-criticised party and reports of meeting ex-Salman Khan and could-be lover Ranbir Kapoor at midnight. Katrina Kaif, it seems, cannot have a normal birthday party. The beautiful actor turned 27 on Saturday. Reports surfaced over the weekend that she met her ex Salman Khan on the eve of her birthday and met Ranbir Kapoor at a multiplex.

She also faced flak for partying at Sah Rukh Khan's bash on Friday.

"Nope. No celebrations for me. I guess it's not meant to be. No party for my birthdays. I was with my Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara team on Friday night. We did nothing to bring in my birthday. My friends Arjun Kapoor, Kabir Khan etc. had a quiet dinner at a Chinese restaurant," the Namaste London actor told Subhash K. Jha at Bollywoodhungama.com,

"In any case, I don't believe in bringing in birthdays. My birthday was on Saturday. I spent it quietly with my mother. And I did not meet Ranbir or Salman on Friday night."

After the fiasco of 2008, Katrina is reported to have been put off by birthday parties, until this year. She had planned a bash for friends, but could not see it through because of the Mumbai blasts on Wednesday.

"She was promoting her new film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara with the cast and crew on Friday until midnight when everyone decided it was time to bring in her birthday. Katrina refused, arguing that any kind of celebration at this time would be odd. Someone pointed out to her that it was a very private get-together and not a party. But Katrina refused outright arguing that it wasn't about right or wrong but about not feeling up to it," a source explained to Bollywoodhungama.com.

"She did put an appearance at Shah Rukh's home since Shah Rukh had thrown the party for the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara team... it'd have looked odd if she went missing," the source added.

Shah Rukh has faced his fair share of criticism for partying so close to the horrific Mumbai blasts from none other than Bal Thackery himself.

"The best birthday gift I can hope for? To find love this year, and for my films to do well. And also to keep Mumbai free of attacks," said Katrina,

"We can't ever begin to feel normal and do normal things like celebrate birthdays or even go out with friends if we have the fear of violence hanging on our heads all the time," believes the actor.

Young handsome hero Ram and milky white beauty Tamanna Bhatia starrer new film ‘Endukante Premanta’ has been launched today (29 June 2011) at Rama Naidu Studios, Hyderabad. The film will be directed by Karunakaran.

Director Vijayabaskar gave clap for the first scene that was shot on Ram and Tamanna while Suresh babu switched on the camera. Director Sukumar handed over the script to Karunakaran. 

SS Rajamouli, Puri Jagannath, Dil Raju, Bhagyaraj and Sravanti Ravi Kishore include among the other who attended the launch.

Regular shooting of the film will star from the first week of July.

Sravanthi Movies Banner is producing the film. It will feature music by GV Prakash Kumar and cinematography by Andrew and editing by Goutham Raju.
